About Bristena

I am a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist with an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology (2022) at the Institute of Psychosynthesis London. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists and abide by its code of conduct. I am also the author of a book of therapeutic poetry, "Inner Callings—a pilgrim's diary," which captures some confessions along my journey of personal and spiritual development.

A little history

Born in Romania, I moved to London in 2013. Soon after, I experienced a major turning point, an existential crossroads -- I lost all passion for the law degree I was studying. Desperate for more meaning, I quit my studies at King's College London and began a journey of self-discovery, self-inquiry, and healing past traumas. I encountered various personal development, healing, spirituality, and therapy fields. When psychosynthesis entered my life, a light bulb went off, and I knew I had arrived "home." I believe this psychology answers many dilemmas humans deeply tussle with around what makes our experiences & relationships more meaningful and fulfilling.

What moves me

As a highly sensitive, empathic, and caring person, I feel called to facilitate development, healing and growth. It is a real honour to assist others in creating more passion, peace, and purpose in their lives.

Since early childhood, I have sensed the innate evolutionary potential that longs to become fulfilled through human beings. Deep down, we all yearn to express our unique combination of strengths, interests, and talents in service to the larger story of mankind.

Now, as we witness numerous devastating collective crises, more of us are called to find new ways of serving the moral and ecological regeneration that our species and Earth need. My therapy practice, artistic offerings, and community experiences are all based on this philosophy.

What else I care about

Alongside working 1-to-1 with clients in my private practice, I write poetry and love facilitating inspiring group experiences. I host women's circles, community gatherings and poetry recitals to foster well-being, belonging, and creative expression in the communities I serve. Information on upcoming events can be found here.

Outside my work, I enjoy reading, practising yoga and meditation, taking nature walks and travelling. These activities help me stay grounded and bring a balanced perspective to my work. I believe in the importance of self-care and creativity and strive to bring that balance into our sessions. I also dream of getting more involved in eco-regenerative practices and ways of living.
